you can't tell me that car really has 27k on it. It would have to sit in the shittiest of shitty conditions to even come close to looking like that.

Heh, I have nothing to prove, but prove I did the work myself with help from friends.. No reason for me to waste time lying about anything with my car when my FD is the truth.. Once finished all the negative feedback will most deffinetly turn into possitive feedback.. so keep them coming it just makes me want to finish quicker...

I'm not dissing you or your work, but that car doesn't have only 27k on it. Whoever you bought it from did something to it, I don't know what, but something. I've seen cars in western NY where I grew up, with tons more miles that sat outside and rotted and they didn't look like that.

I am not calling you a liar, but is it not possible that you bought a car that had the odometer altered, that car looks like it has been to hell and back more than once haha

good luck with the project by the way, keep us updated with pics as it progesses

Carfax lies along with my contact inside State farm who gave me details about my car and previous owner? The FD looks the way it does on the outside cause it was sitting inside of a body shop for just about a year. Before I had the car in the body shop and sitting in my house all mangled up she looked like a regular vr FD paint decent.. Interior is flawless im telling you it still smells fresh...

so those are all new "used" panels? Or the paint got that way from sitting INSIDE at a BODY SHOP?

Explain the engine and suspension and such looking like someone sandblasted all of them?

Sorry, but I'm not a betting man and I'd put moeny down your sources are incorrect.

Well ladies and gentlemen like I said before I have nothing to prove or argue about. I know what I have and I already know what i'm going to do. She is a diamond in the rough, when I decide to give her a streetport. Come and see how clean my motor is on the inside and you tell me if the miles are about right. . As for my comment about certain cars in my area. Once i'm all setup put your money where your mouth is... So with that said why not cheer on a rotary enthusiast instead of assuming what you really dont know...

well...i dont know why you guys are bashing him for it having 28k miles on it....
think of it this way...the car's prob 9-11 years old...even if it wasnt driven that much...it can still be trashed.
it DOES have a salvage title, so an accident can definately do that.
suppose the original owner didnt EVER garage it or wash it and left it in the sun/snow/rain so the weather could just eat away at it...
so before you go calling someone a liar, think a little

Explanation about condition of my FD. Sitting outside near water for god knows how lkong before I even bought the car. That could be a reason for the underside to look the way it does. Paint, the body shop where I had my car being worked on completely shitted on me. All they did was give me the damn run around, so the car was sitting in a dirt box for just about a year. Alot of the OEM parts were bought from this very same forum untill recently when I had a nice size shopping spree and went with malloy. Its all a learning experience. My FD is my first real deal peice of motor artwork. Everything else I've had was nothing more then a $600 hooptie..So when I saw my FD in the paper I was in love cause I saw the potential in her and for a great price. So why not, I've always like the FD's since 93 when the yellow r2 was released.... I plan on doing as much work myself on my FD. If i had a place to paint I would go and buy/rent all the tools I would need to paint her myself without a doubt. So anyone that does their own work hear me out when i'm just posting pictures about my own project. I dont care if it takes me another 3 years aslong as she comes out minty as the end result.

FYI- The condition of the paint has nothing to do with millage. Driving a car and a car sitting outside not driving it would have the same affect on the paint.

Actually the condition of the paint backs up the millage. It means that the car sat for a long time and wasn't drivin. That is the only way paint will turn that bad.

Good luck with the project, it is good to see another RX-7 saved.

Good luck on the project.

A little hint on the pics, extreme close ups don't communicate much information. It is too hard to see anything.

The suspension actually looks pretty clean. There is a lot of bodyshop type dust on it but it does not look like years of road grime.

what i meant is good luck with the car, i hope it turns out good in the end.

and what i meant about the "race a real car" thing is couldn't you think of any fast cars that an FD can beat besides hondas and mustangs, I'd say after mods hondas and mustangs have a 14.5 avg. 1/4 mile time.

Turbojeff i'm glad to see you join my thread. After seeing the work you and your friend do on FD's really motivates me and keeps my hopes high to the outcome of my car... Thank you..
