My Rx7 at the Texas Invitatinal this past weekend

First off, damn what a event. I have ran the event in the past with my Twin Turbo Viper, and made it to the finals of the six speed challenge. But bringing an Rx7 to an event like this was so much fun!! No one expected the car to go as fast as it did. Granted, the car did not win a single race all weekend, but I never go paired with a car that made less than 1300whp. My car makes right at 800whp, and is a blast do drive. I beat the **** out of the car all weekend, and it took it like a champ. The guys who built this car for me ( Roger and Armoris Martinez out of Kansas City) Did a helluva job! Our best trap speed was right at 160mph, for reference a 1150 whp supra traps 164ish out there and a 1200whp viper trapped 166-8mph. The big boy 2000whp+ Twin Turbo Gallardo's were trapping 190's. I really feel this car would have went mid 160's, but the stock gears were killing my take off, Was putting my in a bad spot in third gear, so for the first few seconds it was really laggy (around 4700-5100rpm) But here are some pics of the car at the event.

What kind Of tires were you runing? Size and brand (the rear ones). How much trouble did you have with grip and what did you do to remedy the situation?

Do you have a stock transmission and rear end to handle the power your making?

BTW nice pictures and great reliability at those power levels! Great experience for your kid :-)

Your car is very impressive to say the least. And you seem to have a good attitude about it. Glad you had fun. Your RX-7 is awesome!

255/60/16's MT Drag Radials. They hooked decent in third and fourth. Second is pointless. Stock trans and rear end! LOL

Love all the pics! I think Im gna put that pic of you vs the Gallardo as my background. That's so cool!

Also, what did you finish your RE manifold with? It looks really nice, like textured paint or something.

Thanks guys. I have made it to every TI that has been held. They are great events!! It's really hard to stress how fast the cars are out there, it's crazy!! And yes, you pace to 60mph or so, then they green light you and you go for 1500feet. What sucked was that put me to low in third gear, and for the first second or two my car was a dog, with a rear gear change I think it could hit 165ish. Here is a list of the cars that made it.
