my rx7 got owned :\

link to pix..
http://www.illmaticonline.com/forum...=ST&f=6&t=7015&

pictures explains the damage.. i was rolling to a stop at a redlight when some guy in front of me driving a van, who i think stopped on the crosswalk lines, decides to backup, and back up rather quickly.. needless to say, my rx7 front got smashed in, my intercooler was bent, and the front frame was pushed in a few millimeters.. 2nd day of having it and game over for it for a good 2-3 weeks. btw.. did i mention it's my birthday tomorrow? great way to start my 19th year of life. haha sorry guys, just had to vent my frustration. all this happened after i had my new head unit put in too! the cops were all very helpful and nice about the whole situation making sure we were ok and that we knew exactly what to do, answering all of our questions. post your info and if you have any hookups on painting a bumper, getting a cwest front for a 94 rx7 TT, a greddy front mount intercooler, and somebody that could repair the frame damage.. i want to spend as little as possible because the guy that hit me is an old chinese man and i don't want to put too big a dent in his pocket book..

btw, he had a little of my paint on his rear bumper.. nothing more.. a few scratches maybe.. the guy in back always loses these battles.. i got owned today

sorry to hear about your accident. I know it wasn't too serious, life-wise, but it still sucks. if your front bumper cover is fucked, you could always pick up a used one for a few hundred bucks, but then might as well go for an aftermarket front end.

any pictures of the front mount? how bad is it? I know for a fact that you could re-bend or twist a 2-row greddy front mount after an accident. just post some pics of it if you have any.

Sorry to hear about it man. www.extremedimensions.com has the C-West front bumper for around $250 or so. It probably won't be the best of fits but it's cheap. You get what you pay for.

I just picked up the rx7 tuesday! my birthday is today so it's like a bday present. whatever, i was rolling to a stop and the guy backed up VERY quickly. the latch for the hood was bent back, it really isnt frame damage. i cant just hammer that up, and plus there was no damage to my carbon fiber hood. so much for my VIS kit lol, the kit was just put on 2 months ago too! well, now there's low boost because i think the hose from the intercooler to intake manifold might be loose.. any other ideas why i might have low boost? right after the accident, the car would still run up to 7psi ( apex'i fc commander ), but now it barely hits 0.5 psi.. booooo.. help?

Anyone dumb enough to put it in reverse in a traffic lane without looking deserves no financial mercy. Nor does his insurance company.

Fix it right, and make sure frame damage is investigated too.

Too bad he didn't hit you in the rear end. It would give you an excuse to fix the "problems" back there.

Not necessarily. Localized, light damage can be straightened and is repairable, but a bent firewall and spars involving the shock towers is usually terminal. When the floorpan is majorly bent through the tunnel, it's ususally "game over" and options must be pursued, such as "front clip" and "rear clip", ie. making one car from two cars.

Yeah dude that wing has got to go... Happy Birthday though. I hope everything works out for you. And by the way make that guy pay for every penny of damage.

So your the one that bought it, I called two days ago asking about it and it was sold. It was located like a mile or two from me.

How much did you end up paying for it?
I've seen it driving around twice, pretty nice car.

Holy... yeah you shoulda real quick-like spun your car so he hit you in the rear end. Coulda gotten rid of all that ugly the last person threw on the back of your car, what with the chrome lights and that sail on top of the trunk lid.

the wing looks really bad in pix, but in person it looks good.. i'm not very into rice'ness, but more into clean jdm look.. but the tails are terrible..

oh, btw, good news.. i found out that there's no frame damage, and that it's just the latch lock which holds the hood down that was bent in a little bit. my intercooler is fine, and really it's just the bumper that needs replacing. i dont know why, but after i was hit, my car wont run full boost which i still have set at 7psi. can anybody tell me why this is happening? i'm guessing a hose from the intercooler is loose?

yea, but i knew the owner before because he was a friend of my friends. he put a lot of aftermarket parts into, and besides the small *** sparco seats (i'm 6'0 230lbs and i get stuck) the car "was" in very good condition. i paid $16,500 for it = __ = and it was suppose to be somewhat of a bday present since my bday is today.. oh well.. things happen for a reason.. now i'm putting an entire cwest kit on.. just have to wait for it to be imported

Sorry to hear about your damage. Let the guy's insurance pay for it, and don't feel bad for him.

Shortly after I got my car, someone started backing up, and almost hit me. I honked at them, but my crappy stock horn was not loud enough. The next day, I went out and installed the loudest horn I could find. That won't happen to me again

Get rid of the wing. It makes the car look like it belongs to a 19 year old kid
