Talking My Old Man is officially having a midlife crisis--he bought an FD this past weekend!

Specifically a Vintage Red 93 R1, just like me

It's a little bit gay I suppose, father and son having the same exact car, but he's in NJ while I'm in TX, and besides, I make over 150 more wheel hp

He got a great deal--it's Want2race's old car, and he's very happy with it so far. Ran great, 950 miles from GA up to NJ non stop, only pausing to gas up.

He did run over a possum at about 120 mph on the trip north, but the car is fine

It only has a downpipe and '99 spec tail conversion, so I'm looking to order him an aluminum ast, turbo timer, boost and water temp gauge.

He had a WRX as a company car about 6 months ago and (after switching jobs) was planning on getting another WRX. But after driving my FD during all of March and April, he couldn't resist buying his own 7.

Just thought I'd let you all know

I know why Rich let his dad buy an FD....it's because when his breaks down, he'll just get the parts of his dads car

Bull$hit!

It was either an FD or a girlfriend.
My wife finds the FD somewhat more likeable.

Costwise it is a tossup.

Similar fathers......

Here's a list of cars that my father owns or has owned. This is who I blame for my car lust.

Current Car: Renntech Supercharged Mercedes C320 coupe. Runs it at 'test and tune' vs. other dragsters. Best 1/4 mile was mid 13s, which if very good considering how heavy the car is.

Before that:

S2000 (for about a 2 years)
1989 RX7 Convertible (original owner for 10 years until he got the S2000)
1979 RX7 GS (original owner, the 20th one in California. He was on the waiting list right when it started for almost 18 months)
1937 LaSalle
1940 Cadillac
50's 3000 Healy (as a teenager)

And we go to the races every year.

It helps to have a cool father, no doubt.
