My life story lately.. (Kind of long, with a few big pics).

Bought my first FD on 11/3/04. My dream car. Paid cash/loan.. (which im still paying off--i hate car payments). Mostly stock, just a catback and power fc. Bought from a really cool guy who I'll never forget.

As soon as I started recovering from all the money I just blew, I started modding.. like anyone else would. Intake/straight exhaust/fuel/more boost. Finally saved up a lot of money and got my favorite front end.. 99 spec.

And while the car looked really good in pictures-- it was mostly just a picture car. The paint was a shotty maaco respray that the previous owner had done (looked HORRIBLE in person), because the car had been wrecked in the past. Lots of problems that annoyed me, and around 90k miles on stock block/turbos. And then the unthinkable happened.

11/3/05.. one year later.. (heh)

I don't know why I'm posting this, I'm going to get flamed to **** for it, but oh well. No, I wasn't speeding, wasn't driving like an ***, wasn't driving beyond my ability, etc. If you want the full story that bad, just PM me. Let's just say.. I hate deer. I ended up slamming my head into the drivers side window. I knocked the window out with my head, and it knocked me unconscious. The rest pretty much explains itself, when I regained conscious I was in the ditch.

It was a really crappy day. Nothing broken, and thankfully I was alive. I had a bunch of bruised ribs, sprained wrist, and my knee was killing me.. but I was alive.

Now.. it was time to get another FD. Found a promising looking one in SC. Got some friends together, caravaned there over the weekend. Car turned out to be a POS, went to myrtle beach for the weekend and enjoyed some nice weather.

Car number 2 was in PA.. had a blown motor, but looked promising.

Ended up buying the car.. and trailering it back to ohio.. Pulled the motor the next night.

And then took it to rx7store for a rebuilt/stage 3 race port. A little while later... got the motor back, and finally got the majority of the kinks worked out tonight. Never thought I could pull and reinstall a motor myself and actually have it run and drive when I was done.. but I guess it is possible.

More pictures and videos to come once I finally get a chance to clean the garage, wash/wax the car.. and then hopefully some nice weather so I can start my lovely 1500 miles break-in!

Sorry to hear that man. I think this car has some sort of curse. I bought my fd in jan 05. The night I bought it, a body shop guy at my friends work said it showed signs of being in a wreck. So I freaked out and took it to be aligned and anyalized for a bent chassis or signs of a wreck. All the places I took it to couldn't find any signs of damage and the car aligned almost perfect. That guy was just a jelous ******* trying to freak me out. I couldn't really drive it because of its blown suspention so I drove it twice before the motor blew in march 05. It's been in the shop ever since. it's jan 06 and I driven it 2 times. When the registration came I got confused. . .I had forgot I owned the car. It can always be worse man.

I know.. and I was really considering going to you for the motor. But I just ended up going with them, plus it helps that their shop is like a 2 hour drive from me.

And everyone else, Eclipsed830 is a friend of mine lol.. he helped me with my coolant problems tonight.

I hate deer too. We have them up here on base, they occasionally roam into the road. You'll see a number of dead rodents in the road... but we had a few guys total their rides because of deer.

Glad to see that you're still alive with an accident like that. ******* Deer... it probably didn't even die.

Sounds like my story from 3 years ago. I was not in "the wrong" while driving either. Hydroplaned when i was cutoff on the interstate in the rain. How does flying through pine trees sound? I ended up in intensive car for 3 days and a hospital stay of 3 weeks. That was with my seatbelt and airbag. Main thing is were still here. I am enjoying my current FD w/ my previous car's block in it! Just remember to always check your tire pressure and dont take treadwear for granted. These cars are quick and light. They need all the traction they can get. Weak or worn tires are a death wish.

Bill,
Good to hear you got another FD. Im going to have to come out and hang out with you for the day, and go for a ride in it. Seems to me that you and I both have shitty luck when it comes to a lot of things. Im glad that things seem to be going your way again though, except for that whole debt thing, hehe.

Take care,
Chris

Man sorry to hear about the FD, glad you are ok though...

Really scares me of late how many totalled FD's I've seen, makes me really think about changing driving habits!

Good luck with the new FD, treat her good
