my key doesn't unlock the door?

well recently the plastic piece that covers the keyhole on the door handle broke while I was trying to put in the key.. I think a little piece of the plastic is in the keyhole which is making it impossible to unlock my doors. is there any way I could get it out?

Search any of the many threads on repairing the lock, or replacing the keyhole light bulb.

It really is VERY easy to take the lock out of the car, and take it completely apart. Just watch the tumblers and make sure you get them back in the right order. No big deal, really. Intimidating at first but once you've done it you are like, "****** A! That wasn't so bad, and now I know how a lock works!"

When this happened to me way back when (now have a new assembly) I used tweezers to fish the plastic piece out so the lock still worked.

^ Oh, absolutely. Small picks can be very handy too.

I left a post some time back on a tumbler breakdown to remove a broken key. I put ics on there. If you can't get it out then PM me and I'll fix it for you for a small fee.
