My Hood Project

I even tried it with a full bottle of water...
I also still have the stock hood, so if I ever want to drive under water, I'll swap hoods.
The design is influenced by the hood's substructure, and the fact that I plan to go V-Mount before I die. Don't know if that makes sense either, but I kinda like it...
The opening design is not in my taste but I agree with those above, your attention to a quality final product is very good. The lines and finished work look very good! I would also recommend painting the inserts either the same color as the car or maybe just one shade lighter if you want a bit of contrast. But this is also just my taste, I don't like things to stick out. I like a nice clean look.
Though I like your design I completely disagree with your logic. The stock hood is worth quite a bit more than some aftermarket counterpart. So in a sense by chopping up the stocker you lost more than you saved. Especially if you ever want to sell your car or get tired of the look.
I didn't realize stock hoods were worth much at all... But that's not the sole purpose of why I did it. I was able to create a unique and functional hood that I actually enjoyed doing.. For me, that was worth more than an aftermarket hood.
