My Half Bridge Port FD Video

Quite a few people have been asking me for videos of my BDC Half Bridge Port FD, so I had some extra time while at work and decided to make one! I will be getting tuned by next month so i'll update this thread with a new video of dyno and street action! Turbo is a Borg Warner S362 ETT.

Anyways.. enjoy my start up, idle, and spool down - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcZ0nORJRYk

That sounds good! Idle is a bit high. Needs to be lowered to 1200-1400rpm. Plus, get a filter on that turbo ASAP!

Motor sounds as healthy as ever! congrats on getting everything together. I've been waiting for a vid of this thing and I'm looking foward to seeing the numbers it lays down.

BTW: BDC bridged the irons on this motor (perfectly) but the the, teardown, cleaning, inspecting, exhaust porting, clearancing and assembly was done by me Not trying to steal your thunder Brian but I put a LOT of time and $ into that motor.

Hey Lerry, who will be doing your tuning ? I don't remeber if you told me already. I'm not too familiar with that turbo, what kind of power are you expecting to make?

What IC duct and core is that?

Don't know much about the Borg Warner turbos... but is that thing ball bearing or bush bearing?

Sounds great. Has anyone ever tried a HBP on a 20B application? Wondering if the extra displacement would be able to give you a lower and more "streetable" idle.

The car definitely sounds great. Kinda makes me regret not going half bridge to be honest.

A couple of observations:

(1) Air Filter: https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo-rx-7s-23/part-k-n-shorty-4-inch-air-filter-722123/

(2) The four nipples on each side of the LIM-- they're simply passthroughs. You can remove all of the vacuum hoses, they're not doing anything

(3) I'd definitely look into some heat sleeving for all the lines in the turbo side of the engine bay.

(4) That SMIC duct bracket is an eyesore and isn't really needed.....the SMIC should sit on the crossbrace, and the duct fits snugly in place.

(5) Do I spy some nice feminine legs at about the 1 minute mark ?

Cyan - Yep you did great work on the motor, it's solid and strong! I can't wait to get tuned. Juni from JRX will be doing my tuning once I'm completely ready. I'm hoping ~440whp at 1bar.

Goodfella - thanks for the input. yeah that filter wont work it will touch the IC, i'll be working on a filter setup soon. as far as the nipples, they bothered me just sticking out bare even if they just go straight through the lim, hooking them up together looked better for me, to each man his own. oh and with the bracket it stays more put, bought it like that and decided to use it.

thanks for the comments, I also love the sound! I currently drive the FD as a daily, the sound is a head turner (along with those who roll up their window because it's loud). yeah I edited a lot of my girlfriend out, she's wearing a really short dress in the videos LOL

Thanks man, I'm glad you're happy with it. Good luck with your tuning! I'm sure the car will be a blast to drive. And the head turning reaction never gets old lol. I can't imagine there are many (if any) 1/2 bridged cars brapping around on the streets in Cali with thier strict emission laws.

You may be able to get a filter on there with a couple tight 45 degree bend couplers. And any auto store (autozone, advanced napa ect) will have those small vacume caps an an assortment of colors. That would clean up the nipples on the LIM a bit.

Either way, the car is looking great, but what happend to those ballin rims in your avator? those things are beautiful.

video 2

Made a new video today. Lightly getting into it.. 1st-4th gear first pull, 2nd-4th second pull. Rev limit set to 7,000RPM and boost was set to 12psi on pump gas 91 octane. Injector duty around 85% at 7k rpm, needs more fuel. I'll be re-tuning within a few months with a better fuel setup and 15psi. Tuned by mazpower. Oh and windows were rolled up lol

Thanks everyone! It pulls very strong, I was light on the throttle in the video. It's so damn loud, my neighbors were calling me asking if that was my car, they were about a mile or so away LOL! I can't wait to turn up the boost and rev it out to 8,000RPM
