I mean that unless you washed it in a parts washer, painting over like that doesn't tend to adhere well.

What did you use to clean the engine?

In any case it will look nice.

Ah i get ya, well after making all the crucial spots water tight i sprayed purple clean and let it sit for a few minutes, then i sprayed my coarse fiber brush with purple clean and started scrubbing away, washed it down with water to get the emulsified grease off. I did this about 3 times in total. Then after it was dry i brake cleaned the exterior before paint.

I painted everything inside (20 celcius) , so i think the paint stuck on pretty good or at least i hope.

looks awesome.

"had the engine out for maintenance". I LOL'd at that comment. Rotary must be the only thing that the engine is considered standard maintenance.

The silver paint i got at home hardware, it is a high heat enamel 'aluminum' is the color. Good stuff, ive used it lots on my FC and never had a problem. Self Priming, no baking.

The red paint is just your standard engine high temp enamel, color is 'universal red'. It has to bake ones its on the engine, it also doesnt prime itself..

Thanks guys.

At first i wanted to paint the irons black, but i though that if i had a leak it would make it hard to see it.. so thats when i decided on red.

All of my heat shields are black, everything aluminum is silver and i have a few red accents here and there, then the front strut bar is red.. so everything will match good.

Im looking at 5zigen FC01RC's in mat black, then probably paint my brake calipers dark red. So i cannot wait to see the final product.

Fwiw you talked about Por15 products so I will mention that use of the Por "metal ready" is great tool to use in conjunction with "Marine Clean" for paint. Really gets things nice.
