My first RX7 and I am still shaking.....
Hey guys. I bought my first RX7 ever. It's a 1993 R1 Twin Turbo. I have been in the DSM scene forever with my Eclipse GSX and just sold it and found this bueaty.
I have no prior knowledge of rotery's or this kind of car but I was heavy into tuning my GSX. I am really excited to have the car and be able to possibly meet you guys at a gather sometime. I am out in Chicago so if their are any fellow rotery runners out around me please speak up. Anyways I wanted to take this time to introduce myself and tell you the story of how I most likely got the deal of the century.
Hey guys. Not sure if you all knew but I ended up selling my 95 GSX this last Friday and the very next day I found a 54 year old man in Kenosha that had placed his RX7 on craigslist. I didn't think I had a chance at it but I shot him a offer. He wrote me back and said I was the only one who has called abotu it since he has put it up. My friend came over and cause he heard I found this car and wanted to see pictures. I went to craigslist and typed in the search "rx7" nothing came up. I was like man I know it was here. Finally I remember I searched the Keyword "HKS" the week before looking for a wastegate and that when I saw the car. It ended up for some reason the car did not come up when you typed in Mazda or RX7 so NO ONE KNEW! I got about as lucky as you can get and got a 93 Mazda R1 Twin Turbo RX7 with one 70,xxx miles on it. The man was 54 and the second owner of the car who he bought from a women down the street 7 YEARS AGO! The guy was absolutly in love with this rx7 and gave me pretty much a file cabnet with it about the car and the PREMIUM parts he had put in it. Anyways I don't want to get into all the parts unless i get feedback from peeps saying they want to hear about it.
So to sum up the I checked my email yesterday(Saturday) and saw that he had excepted my offer. I called him up and told him I was on my way. My friends all told me not even to stop to **** just go! I drove the 1.5 hours to get there and bought the car. The old man was near tears of sadness when I drove away and I was near tears of joy as i ripped down 294south at 100. The car is great and I can't wait to get her on the tracks.
Here is what is currently on the car along with a few others.
This is some of what it has in it. m2 catback & intake, HKS ceramic coated downpipe, Pettit intercooler, PFS PMC Stand Alone Engine Management System, Nordskog gauges, B&M shifter, Stainless lines, Dual Tial BOV's

Hey, congrats! There's plenty of fellow RX-7 owners here in Chicago, including myself. I wouldn't mind meeting up as long as you're not a *****. I've met just as many stuck-up FD owners as I have cool ones in the past few months and it's getting kind of rediculous. Sorry, just felt like I needed to vent. Anyways, I might see you around.

But to introduce you to the rotary world i'll give you some knowlage, PFS is a piggy back ECU, not a standalone, but common mistake.
But overall the mods hes done give you a kickass plateform.

Congratz. Now be sure to take good care of her and if you are new to FDs be sure to find first of all a good specailist and follow only his advise until you get to know every noise the car can do. It will be vital if you want to totally enjoy it for a long time.

Learning what the different noises may be cause from it a very good way of avoiding larger troubles later believe me.
I have eliminated nearly all of them now and if I here new ones I always run to my specailist.
