Also I'd think in LA theyd be a hot target for theft or vandalism from someone jealous at your high school. Besides when your in HS you need to carry more than 1 person hah. Good Luck either way.

annually? I priced out a FD for insurance when I was 19 with a perfect driving record. 6k/6months! 12k/year for full coverage. GOOD LUCK getting full coverage for that cheap if you're under 25.

wow... after reading everything it really sounds like it's not the bottomless money pit that fd's are that is your concern. It sounds like you just want a bling car. Am I right? Well both are definantly nice, BUT your main concern (and your parents) should be safety. You don't have the experiance to drive a pure sports car like this. Ask me how I know. From your life's perspective, think of it like this. You take your car out... something happens and you swerve... remember you have a lightweight high hp rear wheel drive with no traction control.. your rear WILL kick and you WILL crash.... now if you're still alive you have a 15k dollar pile of ****, and nothing to get around in. How cool is that? I've got a friend who died that way... he coulda got a decent car, then when he got more experianced he coulda got a better car and kept progressing.... instead he got something he couldn't handle (he thought he could) and now he doesn't get a chance at anything.
Another friend of mine in a 3000gt vr4, hit some water going a little to fast, his rear kicked out enough to scare him, he swerved and hit a car head on, killing the driver and her baby (he lived but is serving 10 years in prison).
I totaled a second gen, van didn't see me cause the cars are so low.... ripped everything from the firewall forward off.... if I had been going 1mph faster I would have been included in the rubble.
Take the g35 and in a few years get an fd (I waited 10 years) I've built and raced quite a few cars and I drift (on courses of course) it took me 10 years of learning to avoid my accident last year.... driving an rx7 I hydroplaned on some water durring a freak rain storm and got completely sideways for about 50 yards.... I straightend it out and continued on my way. this was on I-76 in colorado at 65mph.... at that moment I thanked god I had all the experiance I had to keep my cool.
Oh yea I also have a GC8 daily driver for rainy days and snow.
Good luck and please take the g35.

I agree with getting the g35... i had an fd and if you don't check your speed, you are going like 85+ in no time. And as a 16 year old the insurance rates will F u up.

the g35 is a nicer car than the fd. if i could only have 1 car i would choose the g35 over the fd anyday. i would never want drive my fd to work in the summer in a suit.
