Either worked for me honestly. It'll make a gurgling sound and then when it stops, youre good.

It makes the same sound as when the overflow tank is getting filled. That mechanical suction sound...

Haha I was about to suggest that. I know you're on Orlandoforums.com.

Is it an imported one or US spec? Whats done to it?

If you have a full exhaust with no modified computer you will eat the engine. Maybe not today but chances are soon.

What year is it? Is it black? You've probably talked to me personally before... Ive got basically all the bits for an engine in my garage...

I live near Avalon Park. Pm me.

it's most likely coolant seal failure just make sure the ast cap has a .09 bar cap on it....to put your thoughts to rest get a funnel and put it over the filler cap not the ast cap start the car when the coolant rises you'll see if it bubbles up in a fizzy sensation like champagne bubbles that's exhaust gases and that means your coolant seals are toast you'll have to do a rebuild...if this is the case i recommend you to not drive the car around because you'll over heat the engine without even knowing..but lets hope that's not the case. inspect all of the coolant hoses after a certain amount of age they tend to go bad.

Wow, i scanned through this thread to see if anyone would say this but they haven't...

I feel its just an old cracked overflow tank.

Let me guess, you drive the car for a while, park, but dont let it cool down a bit and when you turn it off, it bubbles over. Then, if you do the same, but let the car idle/fans come on or whatever to cool it down a little it doesnt overflow.

I fixed this problem with two FDs and both were the overflow tanks. They crack at the bottome of the neck letting all the fluid out.

Like i said i only grazed through the thread so sorry if you found out this is not what it is, but im pretty sure it is.

Update:

Since my last post I replaced the air separation tank AST with the pettit racing alumminum tank, I also replaced the coolant overflow tank since the top was cracked, replaced the thermostat, new caps, top and bottom RAD hoses. The engine is running much cooler than before and there's NO spilling after shut down of the engine. While the engine was disassembled to do all this work I also replaced all the belts. The engine is running as it should, and excelleration is excellent. I could not be happier.

I wanted to thank you all for your support and troubleshooting ideas, this club is the best!

Couldn't you test for hydrocarbons in the coolant? If it tests positive, you've got sealed problems... if it doesn't, check the cap, tank, etc...

I've had bad seals for at least a year, but they keep getting resealed by carbon deposits, so I just ignore it, keep an extra bottle water in the car. It occasionally beeps when I turn on, so it puts more water and move on...

Cooling system burping

I used the Lisle Spill-Free Funnel to burp and remove air from cooling system, this thing works great. After the system has been filled it continues to raise all the bubbles out until it is bubble free.

I think it's been recommended to go from the 0.9 (10 psi cap) to a 13 or 16 psi, i run a 16 psi cap, cause i dont want my coolant leaving if the car happens to get slightly hot. Somewhere the boiling temperatures were posted for different caps.

I was running a 10 psi cap and i was having trouble with the coolant leaking out, the car was at normal OT and the cap wasnt that old. Switched to 16 psi cap and problem solved. Make sure the air is all out of the system too.
