my FD hates me. help me diagnose
otay.
storyline;
bought janky FD with shady history.
drove for a week (to work and back). never had problem starting up,
fired up faster than my FC. had intermittent CEL, ecu was on safe mode
for a while (.4bar boost cut), then guy on the forums told me it might
be safe mode so i reset ecu and then it was proper (but had no power)
pass smog legally with downpipe and midpipe (oem parts with cat - but
air pump un-attached)
put on enfini y pipe and downpipe/midpipe, drove for 10 minutes on day
5 of ownership. friend was driving and stopped at stop sign, then it
died and wouldnt fire up again.
didnt see spark (pulled plug and looked for spark at wire). thought
leading coilpack was dead, so converted to turbo2 coilpack from FC. no
differance
cross checked ignitor and resistor chip under brake booster with
runing FD. they seem fine as friends FD in SJ fired right up.
borrowed ECU last night- thought it was dead ecu, plugged it in and
theres spark at the coilpack now. i can smell gas, but dont know if
there is enough. played the EFi fuse game because i thought it was
flooding, and occassionally it will catch and try to fire up but not
really.
checked compression, front rotor is 90 psi, rear is 65 (normal piston
compression tester).
my thoughts- perhaps fuel pump is dead? going to try differnt fuel
pump in a moment-
