My FD is finally done!!
Just thought Id write this as a thanks to all the help Ive been getting from the folks on this forum. Especially Fritz for the parts+advise!
I have always drempt of owning an FD. Ever scense I was 16 when I bought my first car (a first gen). It has been out of reach financially untill just last year, when I bought one and had it imported from Japan.
Never even having sat in one, I was totally prepared to put $$ into it, and treat it like gold.
The day finally came when it would arrive in Vancouver. I drove down there, to see it roll out of the container, and was so so excited. My excitement was tapered with dissapointment however, as the car wasnt boosting AT ALL! I took it for a long drive home, and proceeded to start working on it, and still drinving as a DD. A new rad/fanswitch, air box mod, efini y pipe, downpipe, brakes all around including new drilled/slotted rotors, new 18"wheels+tires. FINALLY after trouble shooting, a vaccume hose job, more trouble shooting I replaced the turbos! then more trouble shooting, flooding the car, getting plug wires mixed up, and my roomie leaving a rag in the intercooler plumbing, it ran properly!!
My roomie finished the last of the work, and after months of hard labour and reading on this forum I had my dream car delivered to me at my work.
As my roomate walked in wide-eyed he just smiled. "umm .... I dont wanna swear in your work, your boss will get mad...so Im gonna go". (he runs a well tuned SR20) He hands me the Keys, and I take my well deserved lunch break.
I ripped through town, in absolute aww and bliss, as I could now burn rubber at 100 km/hr!! lmao
The car is everything I ever dreamed of and a bag of potato chips!
thanks again guys!
