My FC Commander holder

Anyone ever notice how the astray opening is basically the same size as the FC Commander? I was thinking about buying a holder for the commander but I don't really want it out in the open so I tried to disguise it tonight in the astray. Plus no wire hanging out. I have to make a trim plate for it that will look nice and allow me access to buttons, but you can get the idea from the pics. Any comments, suggestions? Maybe it's been done before?

I believe that has been done before, but Im not 100% sure....

I would like to do something similiar when I pick up a PFC.... Is the cable long enough to connect to the ECU, or did you have to extend it?

Yeah, I assume it has been done but I couldn't find any threads about it. Just about everything has been done. I have seen some pics of people who cut up their commanders and mount the screen in the dash and the buttons some where else. Crazy. My electronics skills are not that good. The cable is plently long enough. Did you get the Power FC yet or are you just looking for the commander? I got my Apexi super cheap from Japan in like 3 days.

looks good, but wouldn't it be alittle better to have it where it is easy to see while driving

I new someone would say something about not being "viewer friendly." Actually, I don't use it much other than to occassionally check my temps. It's very hot where I am. To be honest I was going to leave it unhooked 'cause I want my engine management more set and forget. Like a factory ECU. But there and convenient if something starts acting up. I may make the trim plate cover all but the screen. I can then open it to access the features if needed.

Yeah I've seen that done before.

Mine's actually just propped up in the ash tray until I get a holder because I need my ash tray for, you know, change for parking meters.

I havent purchased the pfc yet, because I am trying to complete my f100 truck project before I go any further with my FD. Parts are already piling up for the truck, and I am quickly running out of space....

I am glad to know that the cable is long enough for what your doing though. I was toying with the idea of mounting it to my left under the fuel gauge, because I want to be able to look at it without taking my eyes too far off the road. Looks like if I do it that way, I will have plenty of cable.

I mounted mine with velcro under my fuel gauge. It's easy to read without taking my eyes off the road.

FDeeznutz:

I put mine in the same exact spot, except on the other side where the odometer is and the cig ligher. It blocks the odometer but I dont care. Easy to access controls or get a look at peak boost or fuel duty % or temps
