Thumbs up My custom upper intake manifold. *With Pictures*

I just finished it over the weekend and figured I'd share my work with you guys. I also posted this in the single turbo section but I'm posting it here to show the regulars. Anyway, I was planning on keeping it all wrapped up till I got my dyno results in but I figured why not. I don't have too much time to work on my own car as I'm have multiple customers cars but I'll try to get a startup video soon.

All the primaries are dead equal length to each other and the secondaries also follow this concept. This is typically what they call a "symmetrical" manifold. The only reason I made this was to aid my 42r with actually having a plenum. I've been working on this design off and on for nearly two years!

Over the winter I took the time refresh my design and apply more figures.
Inside are machined velocity stacks. My runners are not factory sized and were not ball parked. Anyway, here's some quick pictures and I'll try to post some more of my story and add some more pictures to help fill in the questions that will occur.

Soooo I may be ignorant in this just a little but what is the idea behind having a better way to bring in air into the UIM if its still being run into the stock LIM runners underneath? Isnt it kinda the same concept as like a 4inch downpipe, midpipe to a stock CB? Like I said im not flaming I just would like someone to explain why its neccesary?

The first shot is the flush mounted velocity stacks machined to my spec's. Second are some shots of the flange I used to mate to the lower. It has .002" recess to keep the tubing centered with out using a tube to telescope. More pictures will come when I have time. Thanks for looking!

Chris, this if you have not noticed, going into and Xcessive LIM (I'll elaborate later how disappointed I am about the quality). Everything is port matched exactly. I have pictures of all the porting I did and show into detail how way off the Xcessive LIM is from the factory porting. Don't get me wrong I love the idea and design of their manifold I just think the quality is low. It's all port matched and will flow excellent now. Oh and I also just finished welding up my 4" downpipe

I love people thinking I copied anyones design. You have to have a 90 degree bend to meet the lower intake and obviously you should have a plenum. My plenum volume is calculated... Not just cut and thrown on. Also my runner ID's and lengths have been accounted for. I'm using velocity stacks unlike a taper like everyone else's manifolds. As for the flanges the tb flange is 1" thick and the upper to lower intake flange is 1/2"! The acual plenum itself is 1/2 drawn aluminum. All of these components and tubing are all from high grade 6061 aluminum.

I never thought you "copied" anybody. I just looked at it and thought the design looked familiar.... similar, if you will.

Great work.

It's all good. You weren't the one I was referring to. I received it as a pm. I might end up getting it polished but I really don't feel like taking it off.
