aftermarket solenoid options

I've trying to look into replacing the stock vacuum solenoids with something stronger and more reliable, but I haven't been able to find anything. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look?

I know saxyman990 made a kit that he was selling, but he hasn't answered my pm.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Apexi make a solenoid that plugs directly in to an FD connector. I think they are $100+ new each, though.

There have been several threads about replacements, but only saxyman was the only one to actually follow-up with a real replacement. He talks a little about where they come from in this thread:

There was also talk about the Mercedes solenoids but I don't think anyone actually tried them:

Decent used solenoids are so easy to come by that most people don't put out the effort to find a different replacement.
