My custom ETS SMIC

I recently had an intercooler made to my specs by the guys at Extreme Turbo Systems. I emailed the rough specs I wanted and they took care of the rest. The best part is they had it shipped out in less than a week. Pics attached to this post. I know good used SMIC's can be hard to come by, so I thought I would pass this info on.

Core size is 11.5"x15.5"x3.5", 2.75" inlet/outlet. It's a little smaller than the ASP large and Pettit large SMIC's, but a pretty decent upgrade from my PFS SMIC and I should be able to keep a small battery in the engine bay. The welds look pretty good to me and the core itself looks to be of much better quality than any ebay crap. Good fin density and the fins are louvered unlike some cheapo IC's. There are some serious cars running ETS intercoolers, including some 700+whp Evo's and Supras. Good stuff.

Customer service was great, I worked with Tom Hughes. Good guy. I think they sell a FMIC kit for the FD, but they will make anything you want. I am making my own piping and duct, but I'm sure you could work with them if you need this stuff fabricated.

Installed pics will be a while because the engine is still out of the car. Still waiting on that garfinkle oil pan brace from RX7store...

Here are two pics comparing the fin density of the ETS core and my PFS core (which I think is made by Spearco).

Note the louvered fins.

Did they also make the pipes for it or is that something you'll have to have fab'd up?

No pipes or duct, I am making those for myself. I have a single turbo and modified radiator mounts, so I am making fabricating this stuff myself to make sure it fits. They might quote you a price if you need some pipe or duct work done with the intercooler.

The owner has an FD, so they can probably test fit some things.

Call up and ask if you are interested.
