My compression numbers can you help?
Need some help figuring out what this all means.
2/9/09
1993 Rx7 Fd 5 spd
245 244
8.6 8.9
8.3 8.7
8.5 8.8
The car was said to have a new 13k rebuild does this seem like it has?
And what is the health of the motor? I think the 245 and 244 are RPM numbers..?
Thank you

yes those are the rpm numbers.
the other numbers are the compression readings in bar. 3 readings per rotor. multiply them by 14.7 to get psi.
a rough average of your motor is 8.5 bar. thats 120+ psi. which is ridiculously strong

those numbers are probably in kg/cm², which is just below the number for a new motor.
Hey guys thanks for the Info. I just got the car back from Rotorsports in santa clara. Where Paul worked on getting my car's secondary turbo to come back online. Daym leaky check valve. But i'm glad to hear I have a perfectly good motor. The car drives and starts up really strong and feels absolutely solid. I'd like to drive another Rx7 just to see the differences.
And another question for you guys, when my secondary turbo comes online when load is present how can i control the psi level for this because it wants to boost 15 psi! I'd like to take it down to around stock levels. my boost pattern is 10-8-15. And this is with upgraded knight sport twin turbos running a hi flow cat and pettit unlimited.

The FSM mentions kgf/cm², which is equal to 0.980 bar. So they are very close.
I'm not absolutely sure which one the mazda tester uses. I simply saw that my numbers were in the ballpark for the kg/cm² mentioned in the FSM and assumed it was that.

What will taking out the restrictor pill do ? And as far as getting a Boost controller, doesnt that control boost by raising it usually not but lowering it? And from your guys expertise which boost controller would you recommend?
I didnt do my silicone hose job, so I wonder if the pills are even in there or not... only one way to find out....
And another question when using a a PFC/boost controller. do you have to remove these pills ? or anything else
