Question My car wont shift stuck in gear? please help..

Ok Ok, i just got a new motor my bill is $5,000 i have yet to break in motor i have about 1,500 miles put on and now i have new problem.

I was driving with my girlfriend and was at a light and it turned green, i wasnt paying attention and my car stalled and lunged foward and died. i started the car believing i just stalled and when i went to put into 1st gear it was really rough i had to force it into gear then it stalled in panic of blocking traffic i started and it went into 3rd instead of 1st and so it creeped along the intersection. i shifted it then back to nuetral, then proceeded to drive normally but the shifting was very rough! i parked the car turned back on it was in nuetral and then tried to put in 1st didnt go it just made a big grinding noise and no matter how much force i used it wouldnt go into 1st or any gear. When the car is off i can switch gears no problem at all, clutch pressure there..but when i turn the car on it wont budge into any gear.

please help me i am bitting my nails i really cant afford any work now if over $500.00 if so i must leave it sitting til i get my loan for my engine paid off, which wont be bad becuase i have another car as a daily driver but i would love to enjoy my rx7 this summer

get your clutch master cylinder lines checked and bleeded, your pressure plate isn't being pressed hard enough. You can also try pumping your clutch peddle

The clutch is not releasing , first check the master and slave cylinders. ,then the clutch fork and release bearing . The inspection cover on the bottom of the bell housing will help you there.

Sounds to me like a fluid leak somewhere. Check the line from the master cylinder into the slave, rebuild the slave cylinder (I just did this, $8 in parts from Autozone and took about 30 minutes. It was nasty in there.) and if that still isnt it you cana rebuild the master cylinder (I think the rebuild kit for that was $22). I need to try that myself now.
I have been experiencing some similar problems myself lately. Usually things are ok but occasionally shifting gets really difficult, it wont go into gear and the shifter feels like I just hit a wall. It is ok when driving and only happens when stopped. All gears and reverse do it so I doubt syncros are the problem. My clutch is 80k miles old now so I just ordered the ACT street/strip clutch kit, maybe the pressure plate springs are weak but even if that doesnt resolve it my clutch should be getting pretty close to gone anyways.
You guys that suggested looking at the fork, I guess I can inspect the fork when I have the tranny off for the clutch but what do I look for? bent? too much slop?

I'll throw in here that I had this exact same behavior in my FC years ago. Turned out the pilot bearing was just metal shavings left over from previously fine needle bearings! New pilot bearing and shifting was fine...
