No, that's your air pump! If it's gone, I don't think you will pass smog without the $100 mod

If you have a aftermarket bov you will probably automatically fail the visiual inspection. I dont think the smog tech is stuip enough to mistaken the bov for the air pump. And if your air pump is disconnected it will never pass the tail pipe test.

 

man i am glad i dont have to take any smog tests!!
