my 9.5 lb flywheel makes me slower?
people are telling me that my 9.5 flywheel is slowing me down at the 1/4 mile is this true.
i know it is harder to lanch but doesnt the faster aceleration make up for that?
so what are the benifets of a 9.5 lb flywheel?
i was it will free up about 15 horses so thats why i bought it did i waste my money?

Yes, if drag racing was what you are all about. It makes the launch more difficult and you drop revs too quick unless you are one fast shifter. I went with a lightweight steel flywheel from Racing Beat. It helps me accelerate a bit faster while still allowing me to hold my revs up higher during shifts. I almost went the Aluminum way but I drag race too much for that. Aluminum flywheels are for Auto-Xers.
Lighter flywheels are usually a no-no for drag racing.... They're mostly for road racing..
I don't know about the +15 horses, it seems if anything that you'd lose torque(thought I heard that it does take away torque but not definite)..
The only one I know that runs one in their drag car is Pluto(or he did) and I think Ari still uses a stock mazda oem flywheel.
