Wel I did my upper bolts from above so i took of both intake pipes and the 2 smaller ones. the top right is failry easy. the top left I reached in my hand with a rattle socket and put it on the bolt. now unless you have a REALLY smal rattle you may get it on completely but I just put the top of my rattlewrench inthe socket+ a small bar for extra torque and it came of pretty easy.
That bolt is one hell of a pain in the *** because when it needs to back on you need to do it thesame way with small movement possibiities and as the wrench isn't compeltely in the socket itfalls out constantly.

Good luck!!

@ EDV

I have a (new) Bonez HF cat here (3") so I nee to get some 3" piping, bends and a friend needs to cut out some flanges for me at work...

Hmmm I'm not familiar with that place in Brussels but let me know when you're around and I'll drop in ,ok?? ;-) lol

I just did mine last week and it was a pain in the *** too. Soak them with some kind of lube and use a propane torch to heat the **** out of them eventually it will come off with a BFH.

Anybody know why the stock cat has a stud on one side and a nut and bolt on the other? I am changing my downpipe (car is all stock BOOOO! ) and thoght that it was strange. Downpipe is such a pain in the ***, but I figured since I had just finished the fuel filter I must be on a role. Anybody ever replace there studs for downpipe? I have new ones and only 1 of 4 came off with nuts.

I think your're talking about the dp not the stock cat. The stock cat has bolts on both sides I believe.

No, but many dp designs require you to take off all the studs to replace with shorter studs or bolts. The problem is that the stock studs are too long to get the dp on. Its pretty much the topic of this entire conversation....

Maybe, but mine absolutly has a stud on the drivers side, I'm lookin at it know. I figure it must be to stop the exhaust from completly seperating by breakage of a nut etc. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
