Any one out there put a Mustang box in their FD?

 

There must be someone out there whose done this

 

Big bad Labreck has one. But thats matted to a LT1, hmmm.

I remember reading a thread where someone was doing this kind of conversion with the tremec....

 

the gear ratios suck i have a mustang and an fd

 

so get a t56, or change the final drive.

 

Isn't it possible to get it with what ever gear ratios you want.

 

If you're going to go that far and do all that work, you might as well get a race slush box.

 

I have a Borg Warner T56 6-speed originally intended for a 4th gen. Camaro, as opposed to the later models made by Tremec. The only Mustang parts I have in my car are a 2003 8.8" Cobra IRS differential and a 2000 Cobra R 6-speed shift ****.

So where and how much for one of those boxes ??, how difficult is it to fit it to my FD ??.

Thanks for the response guys , I am anticipating gear box problems with my new setup and would like to start dealing with them before they actually happen , anyone with any relevant info feel free to post.

 

An adapter plate is the usual method of mating one manufacturer's transmission to another manufacturer's engine...

 

Tremec bought Borg-Warner. The t56 and world class T5s are made by Tremec. So Jim has basicly a Tremec tranny, which still is a Borg-Warner.

 

I heard somewhere that Jerico makes a bell housing that works for this ? , anyone know ?.
