does anyone know if theres a terminal limit to the effective ouput of an ignition system? i mean at what point is there a threashold where any extra spark is completely unused. im sure ti cant just get better adn better. theres gotta be a point at which it's at it's peak fuel burning efficiency point

edit: actually it appears summit has them in stock. However I found the dual post cheaper at: http://www.mpsracing.com/products/MSD/ig02e.asp I got mine from them, they shipped it very quickly. I was pleasantly suprisec. I jsut wish it would have come with nice new MSD spark plug boots and ring terminals like the blaster SS's did.

I have my coils relocated so making a bracket to accept the odd sized dual post was much easier. Good luck.

I'm running (1) SS Blaster Coil MSD-8207 on each trailing plug. and one dual post coil MSD-8204 running both leading plugs.

Only one MSD6 is needed to boost both leading plugs since they both fire from the same coil.

Everything has worked great for me so far, no breakup at any RPM. Making 425hp and 310tq at the wheels @17psi.

Only problem is I'm going through plugs like I own NGK stock!

I had a question about this. I'm using an TII leading coil on the msd 6 box...it works and everything..but im curious if the metal plate around the base of the coil where it was mounted to the ignitor needs to be grounded. i have the positive and negative leads where they should be and the car runs so it's obviously working...but im just wondering if it is supposed to get a continuous ground...which i thought it was...unless thats only for inductive discharge...

I edited the post, i meant I'm going through PLUGS, the coils were made for the MSD6 box.

This is due to the MSDs use of full voltage all the time I guess, i've heard the Jacobs boxes ramp up to full power only when needed.

I'm running 9's and 10's. The EGV snowmobile plugs, palladium electrodes. I was running the eix's with iridium electrodes, but didn't have a good experience with them either.

I ran an 8204 for a while after my stock FD coil burned out with the MSD 6a. At higher boost and rich AFR's I had issues with breakup. I switched to a T2 leading coil and the issue went away. Just make sure you upgrade the leading coil if you run the msd 6a unit. I have heard of a lot more than just me that have burned out the stock FD leading coil on an MSD. I still have the 8204 coil if someone wants to try it out...
