Actually there is more clearance than you realize with the faspac. It won't work with the stock airbox and some larg smic's, but there is plenty of space for piping. I like the looks of the mazdaspeed slightly better, not much. The vents on the faspac are much bigger than the mazdaspeed, thus having more function while keeping a very subtle look. Either hood looks awsome on the car, the faspac isn't as boxy in person as many think either.

i agree, i didn't like pictures of my faspac hood while on my car, but in person it looked great and received many compliments. It's definately a solid hood, it does it's job well. My mazdaspeed hood also does the job well, but due to the smaller vents I think i'm giving up a little function for form. Also the mazdaspeed hood shimmies a little bit when i go over small bumps (this also may have something to do with it being fiberglass) I guess it boils down to three things; cost, plans, and taste. The faspac is cheaper, it requires an aftermarket intake and a few intercoolers wont fit under it, and last what style you prefer.

Mazdaspeed hood looks a LOT better then the Faspac. The scoops are nice and round not squared like faspac.

The Faspac looks really good from that angle, but from others looks too boxy for my taste. But **** the price is right ************.

Yeah that picture shows that it has some curves to it and is not a square design. Its just something that has to be seen in person to really respect it, its very underated.
