i ordered a mzadaspeed carbon airbox and mazdaspeed perf. air filter? any body have one insdtall and how does the carbonairbox work?

I don't exactly see the point of going with the MS airbox. I'm guessing it functions better than the stocker (although, I've never seen exactly how it works, so I'm not positive), but it's definately about the same size. Which means you can't upgrade to a larger intercooler... sooooo... basically you're paying big bucks for the bling of carbon fiber? Not trying to insult or anything like that. Just my own opinion. But like I said, never seen how it works, so I could be wrong...

yes this migh sound crazy...i m payin 1200 include shippin juz for the box..but hey i dun think anybody out here in the US got 1.. I'm not tryin to low-grade my car or anything..i juz want it to look stock and perform better than stock.

BTW, the Mazdaspeed IC is essentially the stock IC with aluminum endtanks. It's a HUGE waste of money in other words.

I think you should be focusing towards performance rather than having products with the Mazdaspeed logo, but that's just me. I guess if you have the money to throw away.....

 

get the ms c/f shift ****, its the only mazdaspeed item I can afford, lol. Its awesome. I think Rynberg even has m/s c/f shift **** envy

 

Maybe you should get a new factory R1 strut bar to compliment it. They are only about $950.

Yeah, I forgot that I DO have a Mazdaspeed component on my car -- the leather shift ****! And yes, the Mazdaspeed c/f **** is very nice....bastard!

 

i was so close to buying one at 7stock. but its too light for my taste. =( i was in love with it but i like the heavy stock shift ***. hey rynberg, is the MS leather **** the same weight as the stocker?

 

Nope, it's like a friggin bowling ball on the end of the shift lever......

In all seriousness, it's definitely heavier than stock. The **** weighs over 1 lb. The **** itself is also bigger than stock.

about 18 months ago I sold my other mazdaspeed c/f shifter to chronos, ask him about it. Im serious, it rocks. its much, much easier to shift now and the **** is much smaller than stock, too.

you can see try when we get together...thats assuming I'm still in cali.

You're right, at $1200 just for the airbox you will be the only person in the US with one and yes this does sound crazy!

But it is a lot better looking

 

I used to have it, I thought it was uncomfortable, the texture difference between the materials was too drastic.. and too light for my taste.

 

what texture difference? it feels like solid marble.
