Mounting stock radiator backward?

Has anyone tried mounting the stock radiator backward like in a V mount configuration? I'm tempted to mount my odd size Trust intercooler (supposedly for the FD) in a horizontal V mount config to avoid the complicated ducting for the IC and radiator.

It wouldnt matter which way you mount it as long as it still gets proper airflow over the core.

I saw your car last friday. Nice. Chuck is working very hard setting your car up.
Please post your dyno results. Looks like very good cooling for the money.
I wish the intercooler is bigger. Its about 16 row, but in different format than regular M2. I think its the new format with better flow/pressure drop.

It's probably going to be a couple of weeks before we get it on the dyno as I'm travelling this week thru next. I will post the results along with all the mods when it's done. There is no tuning to be done as I'm currently running the M2 stage 3 ecu so we'll just see what she does. Chuck and I are going to go for a test ride tonight. Tom

Chuck's setup is very nice indeed but my question is whether the original radiator (or a Toyo) can be mounted the same way with modification to the brackets. Looking at the photos on Chuck's site, it looks like the radiator's inlet and outlet are both on the top edge or am I mistaken?

The Rotary Extreme V-mount uses a Koyo radiator with custom-made end tanks. Chuck stated in the other thread that he will fab up brackets for different radiators but it will cost you...

Thanks Vosko! I was going to put in twin 34 rows but Chuck told me twin 25's would be adequate!!
Supracosworth, you can see some detailed pictures of the radiator and the rest of the install at www.rotaryextreme.com/tom The RE radiator is definitely custom made for the v-mount. Tom

With 459 rwhp on tap, they would definitely be a good investment. There are install pictures for the oil coolers too at the link above. Tom
