Mounting FC in 94

I'm wanting to buy the mount for the PowerFC, but everyone is telling me that the glove box on the 94 is different. I don't want there to be holes in the interior after I take the computer out. If I sell the car I want to be able to take it back to factory and having two holes in the dash just doesn't look that nice. I like the mount that's sold at rx7.com and I don't want anything that looks cheap or out of place. If anyone has any pics sent them to me please. I'm tired of the unit sliding around in the seat.

But that is a stupid place to mount it if you want to see it while you are driving. I just ordered the holder from rx7.com. hold off on a purchase and i'll send you pics this weekend since thats when i will get my car back from repairs.

The problem is that the glove boxes are different from 93 to 94 and if I mount the holder in my 94 once I remove it; in case of a sale. There will be the mounting holes in plain sight, and of course no one wants to see two or four holes in the dash.

I just lay mine in the passenger side seat, or in my lap while driving. No money spent, no holes drilled. The commander fits in my hand and is easy on my eyes when I need to check a setting.

Dude, if you're that worried about having no signs of it ever being there (which doesnt make too much sense, considering if you did decide to sell this the next owner will probably WANT the pfc) just velcro the damn thing to your dash. Easy to grab and put back. And just peel the velcro off and clean up the mess the glue leaves. Done.

I agree with Rynberg, Ive seen this method done before and if you do it well and take your time, it is a great place to hold the commander that isnt in the way, and doesnt require you to hack anything but a cheap cell phone holder. Thats what Ill be doing when I get my PFC in.

Since I have a 93, can someone post pics of the 94/95 glove box. I hand build mine out of Al sheet using the original plans before these were commercially avaible.

Hell just make your own so the mounting screws are hidden.

I too am gonna have to agree with Rynberg and Rxmfn7 about their mounting methods. If done right, it looks more OEM than anything and damn good as well.

Also, if you don't want to use a cell phone holder, some people have gotten a cheap parts store cigarette lighter caps and just glued a small piece of plexi-glass onto it. Add some velcro, and you have another option for a holder. Just take your time to do it right, and it will turn out looking amazing.
