This is an old pic, but I still have it in the same spot. (It's been replaced, so it's a little better aligned now)

Bolt that sucker down.

You can never over engineer a safety item.

velcro???? are you serious?? good luck with that in a crash. it will turn into a deadly projectile.
edv,

RotorMotor is total correct on this one. There was a crash on the starting grid a few years back in the Australian V8 super car series, A stalled car go hit from behind by another car travelling at about 200kmh, the force of the impact was so great it spilt the full cell of the front car open and the car went up in flames, it also dislodged the fire extinguisher bottle mounted behind the driver and project it forward, hitting the driver in the back. This caused drivers worse injury. (remember he got hit from behind at 200kmh, his car went up in flames, and his only real injury was from a flying object.)

Anything not bolted down will try to go out through the front windshield in crash.

Very nice. That's a clever design to make it (almost) universal. Especially like the idea of no new holes drilled, Thanks zullo!

Thanks for the pic Railgun. This is an excellent example of where NOT to put it In an accident, that thing WILL break clean through the plastic, and become a high speed missile in the car.
