motor starts and dies

just dropped a used JDM motor.

motor will crank over.. seems like it ignites but dies immediately

i can only keep the motor going if i add gas to keep the idle up. otherwise, when i let go of the throttle.. the motor chocks out.

any idea?

compression test to be done soon. waiting for my buddy's tester.

yes new plugs (9's)

smokey exhaust (white smoke) but.. on any start up, esp with a motor that's out for a while.. i don't really know how to distinguish ok smoke vs bad smoke...

i have already did a de-flood procedure just in case it was flooded... although i had my injectors flow tested and cleaned a few months ago.. so i shouldn't stick open..

so this is the strangest thing... now as soon as i start the car... it revs up automatically as if full throttle. tension on the throttle is good... PFC is good... so what could be the problem?!

If you didn't remove it and reinstall it, then that shouldn't be an issue.

hm.. i didnt remove it... but i'll look into it.. the problem is still i can't get my car to warm up since i have to kill the fuel (turn car off) as soon as i start it since it just revs automatically

now i am scared to just start my car since i don't want to keep stressing the motor + it's not tuned and i have mods...

redline.... which is what's weird and hard for me to let it run...

found another thing today... after making sure my wiring is ok (looking for open/disconnected wire, found none)... i tried to start the car. the car makes that "psss" noise as if i am just turning over the motor without the spark plugs (that pss noise from the air forcing out of the chamber). so i pulled the egi fuse to see whether there's a leak from the spark plugs... nothing.

edit: ok. just d/c the TPS connector. now my car doesn't redline. will check to see what the hell is wrong with that. anyway to check that with the car off? this is my first time adjusting the TPS.

I'm sure it's possible, but probably not practical. Here's a thread on the adjustment:
