motec vs. haltech

im planning out a single turbo set up right now for my fd3s using either a turbonetics to4s or a garret 35/40, and im considering either the haltech or a motech unit to run everything. Ive heard great things about both but i have heard that the motec is a superior system in terms of flexibility and ease of use. it is however almost 3 times as much. just wondering what all your thoughts on this subject are.

The Haltech is a great system, but the motech is far superiour. If you have the money to get a motech go for it. But if you dont the haltech will serve you well and still make great power. Basically if you have the money get the motech.

guess i should clarify a tad, the motec would be either an m800 or m880 unit and the haltech of course the E6k. the cool the about the motec is that the dash heads up display unit can be purchased to monitor all 170 independant functions of the ECU and can be used to log track info such as lap times and cornering speeds. check this out http://www.motec.com/products/adldash.htm

Just FYI... that's not a heads-up display, it's just a back-lit LCD "dash" for replacing traditional gauges. A heads-up display projects a reversed image which is reflected off the windshield in the driver's line of sight.

Also, the MoTeC is roughly 3 times the cost of the Haltech ($4.5k+ with loom and sensors, plus ~$1,200 for the MoTeC professional Lambda meter for tuning) without the ADL Dash, which adds another ~$5k to the price.

Doesn't the ADL Dash data logger also work with other systems as well not just Motec?
