I'm running Bridgestone Potenza RE750 in 245-45 on my stock wheels and love them!
This is absolutely a fantastic combination that I highly recommend. Wet and dry traction are amazing. Grip is phenomenal. And it is a 'W' rated tire.

I just put on some 245/45/16 Hankook RS2 z212s and they hold the power pretty good. The Yokohama es100s I had on the rears spun 2nd gear when the 2nd turbo came online.

I run 245/45-16 Toyo T1-R tires on the stock rims. I'm putting down about 370rwhp. The car seems like it's on the edge of traction in first and second gear but as long as you don't dump the clutch or shift super aggressively the tires hold just fine. I have a feeling that just a little more hp would put them over the edge, at least in first gear. A lot can also depend on how suddenly your boost hits. A sudden spike in power can break traction even at lower overall power levels. My single turbo setup it very responsive but is pretty linear in power delivery.

245 should make huge difference

I have yoko evs100 245's on stockers and was wondering how much traction they will get from the power coming from my new single. I would get wider rims to for wider tires but this project has cost too much money so far I can't spend anymore for a while.

Those tires are absolutely horrible

I'm sure they were inexpensive, but I'd seriously recommend you not mount them and get rid of them pronto. Look into the T1-R, not much more money, and they definitely stick better. Likewise, the Potenza RE750s are decent tires and not too expensive.

For about $500, you can pick up the Potenza RE-01Rs, which are bar none your best choice in stock sizes. They'll stick better in a 225 than the es100s would in a 285, seriously.

nodeypoo...

I have the T1R with 245/45/16 and they grip ok. 1st gear is a joke, 2nd gear is also slip city. 3rd gear seems to grip ok. This is with 420whp.

But I'm getting my Blitz type 03s in 18x9 and 18x10 and nitto 555rs in 275s on the back that should definantly help.

hmm. okay but I am not trying to spend any money until I just go for new wheels and tires. I'm probably just going to keep the boost down.

I dont know why the Yoko AVS es100's are so hated. I have 245/45-16's on my stock rims and they hold up pretty good. They are quiet, great rain traction, and I have no complaints in the dry.

I run the 245's in the rear and stock in the front. I like the turn in control and feel with the smaller width in the front. A large width in the front gives to much away.

the 225's to the 275's. i know it seems iffy, i was pleasantly suprised myself. there is quite a differance in tread rating though. the s-02's are the lowest available before r's or drag radials i believe.

Matty, the S03 treadwear rating was raised to 180 (from the S02 140).

I ran them both, and the S03 was definitely not as sticky as the S02.

IIRC, tirerack sells the S02 (which is an old tire) in the stock size, but that's about it. They're pretty much discontinued it. It was a good tire though, sticky in the dry and decent in the wet. I roadraced on it and was pretty happy with the way it held up.

I have the KDW2's and they stick amazingly well. And not that this matters the least bit, but they look nice too.
