This time, it's gauge cluster related.
Let me start by saying I've put 3 different gauge clusters in the car out of 3 different year cars.
2 gauges consistantly do not function. The tach and the fuel level gauge.
On the 93 and 94 clusters, the tach jumps around, which is, as I understand, a very common issue. On the 99 cluster, the tach sits at 0 and jumps up to 1000 RPMs when I turn the steering wheel. However, the tach on the Commander does read properly.
On all 3 clusters, the fuel gauge sits stationary, no matter how much I drive.
Most recently, the speedo has crapped out. I believe this to be related to the speed sensor, since the speed readout doesn't work on the Commander either.
The last issue, which is more of a non issue but something I'd like to work properly, is that the oil light on the 99spec gauge cluster is always on. As some may know, the oil light is in a different spot on this cluster because there is no oil pressure gauge. The oil level and sensor are fine, it's strictly a cluster issue.
Thanks in advance,
B
