Monitoring under hood temps; an idea

An idea: consider using a radioshack remote "outside temperature probe" to monitor the under hood temps. I have one on my house and got the idea as I switch over to a vented hood. The receiver could be placed anywhere inside the car, and both run on long lasting batteries.

I've thought about doing something similar. Make sure the temperature probe reads high enough - most are designed for standard outdoor temps, not 200+ degree underhood temps!
