This makes me want to put my 20B in an FD...

Seriously, I think a e85 20B car with a small turbo and a quiet exhaust is the ticket for this one.

The 20b will surely give an advantage, but the 13b can hang too.

The 20b will upset the 50/50 balance unless it is pulled in right?

^Not too much really Andy. I'm going to have mine weighed and corner balanced soon and report on this but I doubt any of us except serious drivers would notice a difference.

Remember, we all take off the heavy twins and relocate the battery so I bet it's pretty close to ideal, even with the 20B.

Yep, if the center hub section could be sent ASAP I'd give it a go. We'll have to duke it out for next year then I'll have some track time in starting at VIR so we should be able to figure out how the car will handle and adjust to dial it in.

It depends on the setup. Most guys who do a 20B either mount it a little farther back or remove enough other front weight to maintain or improve the weight distribution. Most cars that have 20B level power would benefit from a rear weight balance, more like 46F/54R again depending on setup and purpose of the car.

It will be interesting to see the results from this year. That "should" dictate the RX-7 communities actions for fielding something for next year. From what I understand, a local owner with a non-US GTR has made it in as well. Would be nice if it was limited to just DOT legal rides. Oh well. Has Phil or anyone else seen the "final" list of accepted competitors and their rides?

I believe there are classes, so a 4x4 gtr wouldn't really be competing against an fd.

Just got off the phone with Carbonetic. They're okay with me not making the shootout. The center hub piece I need needs to be made in Japan and shipped here. Earliest ETA is in 3 weeks so that puts me out for sure.

The carbon 2 way LSD is shipping today and we'll install that pronto to see how it works so at a minimum I'll have that for Deals Gap.

Well that was sure a disappointing article. Instead of a 20b fd we got represented by an rx8 that was slower than a stock fd
