E85, you could be more aggressive... and with good ignition and amount of fuel, you should and could make more power... Well, that's what Ive heard so don't quote me.. But many I have talked to E85 is becoming a better choice for high HP application.

Spoke with the SCCA National Champ that works with me at Honeywell and he is definitely IN if someone is interested and needs a driver to assist. I've seen several posts that talk about race gas, 93 octane and E85. Not sure if they rules allow anything OTHER than what's available in AZ out of the pump. If that's the case, 91 is the highest, however several stations sell 100 octane unleaded in the pump as well as E85. Just an FYI!

I think an SCCA champ counts as a Pro so not sure if he'd be allowed to race.

IMO, PRO = getting paid $$$ to drive. Pretty sure he's not in that category, but maybe Phil can get some clarification for us

In my opinion, "pro" means someone's sole or majority of their income comes from driving. Not sure if I count someone just winning an event as an enthusiast as a pro. But I will ask this question.

Just received this email from Modified Magazine...

If there's some uncertainty over a driver's pro status with us, have them send us a driver resume and we'll let you know if they're eligible to compete or not.
So, hope this info helps.. I guess I was wrong about what they consider PRO...

Thanks guys. IMO they should hire ONE pro for each category and have them do the driving for ALL competitors in their respective category to get a TRUE representatation of the differences between each car. Then these PROs could do the judging and final writeups on their impressions of each car. Again, JMO!!

But wait a minute. That would make TOTAL sense, so we'll probably NIX that idea.

If they used some popular Big Name drivers they might also draw more attention to the CHALLENGE in their magazine, thus resulting in EVEN MORE magazine sales. Nah... it'll never work

If we don't win this, Phil is selling one of his FDs.

Just checked and my Honeywell driver does NOT have a PRO or FIA license, so he should be OK to participate

The owner of the company is a die hard car freak. He won Bullrun last year in his GTR.

I would have loved to enter this competition. The only thing is that my car is going to PFS in March and I doubt that it will be ready in time.

Well, there's good news and bad news for me. The good news is Carbonetic has agreed to sponsor me and to hook me up with one of their awesome 2 way carbon LSDs and a new center hub to convert my triple disc clutch to a T56 setup. I really appreciate their willingness to do this for me.

The bad news is the center hub section has to be sourced from Japan as I understand it, making it very unlikely I could get the car together and shipped off to the event within the next month. So I think I am out barring some car miricale

I am going to take Caronetic up on the sponsorship offer as it's just too good to pass up. So at the very least, at DGRR I'll be sporting a new 2 way carbon LSD if you would like to check this out. Carbonetic claims it is OEM quiet like and works great so we'll put it thru the test and report back. As for the T56 center hub, it's pretty cool you can just swap out the center section and make the triple disc carbon clutch compatible with a T56.

^Yes. I emailed them about the timing and told them it was highly unlikely we (read "Steve" ) could pull it off without immediate parts. Their info to me didn't reference the shootout, it referenced all other events and the "rules" for the sponsorship.

I'll let them decide if they wish to move forward, but it seems they will. It will be good advertising for them one way or another so it should be worthwhile.

I believe all the cars have been chosen, but I'm not positive. There is one TT FD in it, and an Rx-8 I've sponsored.

I'm still in the running, just pray for me to finish in 2 weeks so I can do a little test and tune before shipping it out.

Moved the car to the new garage this weekend, which means I can finally start bolting all the new pieces on.
