For those that were interested in the "Track Experience", will you please confirm you are planning on attending? If we don't have anyone that wants to do this, then we can use the sessions for more track time.

The weather looks good as of now. Temps in the upper 70s with a 30% chance of rain.

Finally, we need to figure out what to do for lunch. Fritz, I think the North Paddock food place is open right? If we are going to dyno over there why not have lunch there before the event starts? Plenty of room for us. I'll be bringing the Range Rover to tow the FD so I will have some sports drinks and snacks and will bring a large cooler in case anyone else wants to throw some drinks in as well. I'll also bring an umbrella and some chairs if I have them up here in NC.

Going to be quite a fun time

David,
I'm not sure if the VIR restaurant will be open on Mon but there is a private testing session going on in the north paddock so I'd say there's a good chance it will be.

^ Yes! Make it happen and get that sucker together. I believe the Modified guys are driving down on Saturday. They (we) are staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Danville. Book with the "Modified Magazine" name and get an $84 per night rate.

We leave from Windsor Saturday morning 10am. Peter has some stops to make along the way down there and back for the mag. Not sure what our route is.

Hey Fritz & Co.

Sorry for the delay - will get the PayPal deposit done tonight.

Got a slot still open for dinner on Sunday? If so, put me down.

Thanks, and looking forward to it!

Damn! Wish I was closer and could attend (even just for Hoi's food!).

I'd even offer up my FD w/ sequential BNR with 4x850cc injectors and water-injection as another "test bed".

FWIW, there some NOS BFG R1's tires in 285/30R18 (12/2009 date codes) on ebay for $600 for all four tires.
Tires are in Georgia. One seller has 24 left. Grisham Motorsports and Treadwarehouse are clearencing them.

Have fun!

Just a thought guys: how about having a "STIG" drive all cars.

I'm thinking Mike Skeen (or the equivalent PRO driver). VIR isn't too far for him, although he's coming back from a weekend at the World Challenge at COTA.

Worth contacting him, perhaps he can make a recommendation for an alternate . . .

mikeskeen

VIR video (I think he does a 1:53 full course):

I figured I should at least ask but do I need a helmet for the track experience? Just kinda thought it would be a couple of slow laps.

On a side note there's a Small local drift event on the skid pad Sunday also. Should be a lot of fun to watch.

No helmet required for touring laps Maybe the drift guys will let a GT3 or FD out on the skid pad for some laps.

LOL..........

G[/QUOTE]

On a serious note this isn't about racing or which car is the fastest and if it was we'd all have the same tires same power, same rules etc..... I REPEAT it's just some dudes in some modded FDs having a good time and appreciating the greatest rotary powered car on the planet (some may go as far as to say greatest car on the planet PERIOD), it's about NOTHING ELSE!!!!!

PS No Doubt Leh Keen, Mike Skeen, James Clay etc..... are superior drivers to most everyone but this isn't about that. However I'd suggest that Neil ask Mike to give him a hand the next time he visits VIR or I'll be happy to volunteer as well and I'm free
