Modifications and Pictures - 99Spec Stuff Too

All -

Just thought I would share with a few pictures. Got some stuff done yesterday with the GothamRacing crew. They did a great job. Thanks to Ihor, Alex, Rich and Steve.

Stuff done:
Koni (yellow) shocks
H&R Springs
Replace Upper rubber shock bushings (front/rear)
Replace Lower rubber spring bushings (front/rear)
Hawk Rear brake pads
Flush/replace differential fluid w/ Amsoil
Flush/replace transmission fluid w/ Amsoil
New NGK9 spark plugs
Odds and ends

To be done @ next visit since we ran out of time:
Install short shifter w/ new bushing (possibly....)
Flush/replace brake fluid
Fix sending/return oil lines to stock turbos
Fix lighting electrical problem

To be done next year sometime:
Replace most/all bushings

Separately from this, I had some 99+ Spec wheels shipped from Japan (from classifieds). Mounted entire new set of Yokohama AVS ES100s. F: 235/45-17 (8"); R: 245/40-17 (8.5"). So far, so good. Going through the ~500 mile routine to work out the release agent in the tires.

Some pictures for you are attached. Have a good one! See you at a local event or two (Dallas, TX).

Have a good one.

Looks great.

The exhaust looks a little out of place though.

Looks awesome. To top it off paint the calipers and tail lights(to '99 spec).

What short shifter you going with? The Gotham one? I've been looking for one too.

Thanks for your comments.

cloud9: I'm sure we'll meet up eventually. So far, I'm really liking the spring/shock combo. After I found the right "hardness/softness" mix on the shocks.

I would like to get the 99 spoiler. Would be righteous. I am in line to get the 93-95 wing for right now, but I am on the fence to install it.

WrEx: Within a few months, I'm sure I'll get the tails done. Probably get the replica look first, then the actual ones at some point later. That and the new turn signals I saw on another thread that look great.

So many choices, it's hard to choose!

Oh, and within a month, I'm upgrading the sound system. Probably:
Pioneer Premier DEH-860MP
Focal Polykevlar 165K2
JLAudio Amp 300.2
Pioneer GEX-910XM (XM Satellite Tuner)

Chris.

I have that same exhaust. Looks good man, the only thing I would do is remove the fog lights.

Cool car. When that design of nose hit the streets back in 92, it looked great. Today, some 12 years later its looking a little dated.

I'm talking in comparison to the series-8 nose (99-02). You have started the upgrade with the series-8 wheels, a S8 rear spoiler & nose would set the car right off.

Although, the car still looks damned fine as it is.

Keep on rotating.............

I think the short throw shifter is an easy install to do yourself. Like 30 minutes or something with simple tools.

Nice wheels as well. How much more weight does the series 8 or 1999 wheels weigh compared to the US spec stock 5 stars?

They are right @ ~17lbs each. Light. Another benefit!
