Thanks all to those that helped me pick out the modifications for my fd. my cars engine is completely stock except for the HKS superdragger catback.

next week, i plan on getting the HKS megaflow intake, a downpipe, and the powerFC. could someone please tell me what i will gain interms of performance with these upgrades? will i gain more torque, or will i gain more HP, and at what rpm bands?

also, if i add a bigger fuel pump to the car next week, how will that effect performance?

I dont know all about these cars, I am new. But since I bought my FD I can tell you that I have been doing my research. From what I understand the Power FC is very very picky. You need a trained and certified tech to use that thing. I may be wrong, but I hear that. From what I gather I also believe that before you buy a computer upgrade or a standalone, you should consider how fast you are going to want the car to be in the end. What is your ceiling. If all you want to do is sound good and go high 12's low 13's on street tires, you may not need a power fc. Everything else sounds good though. How about an upgrade to the cooling system as well. Doing those mods with the PowerFC will allow you to raise the boost to 12 psi. Assuming your car is 100%, you will likely gain 50-80 rwhp over stock.

The PowerFC is not picky if you are just plugging it in with those mods. You remove 4-pins from the PFC (do not cut wires out of your harness), plug it in, start your car, idle it a while to let the PFC "get to know" your car, and you're done. The from the factory settings provide more than enough fuel for those mods at 12 psi.

BTW, avoid the HKS intake and downpipe. The intake uses foam filters which are ****. If you want an open-air intake, get the Apexi or Pettit. Otherwise you can get a cold-air box (M2 or rx7fashion) or modify the stock box. The HKS downpipe has a crimp for RHD cars and does not flow as well as others. Stick with a Bonez (Rx7.com), M2, or Pettit downpipe. Also, with living in Boston, you'll definitely want a stainless steel downpipe, not mild steel like the HKS.

rynberg is right, don't go with the HKS mild steel dp - it will rust out quicker than you think, but with the heat associated with the FDs exhaust, I would go with a SS dp. I've actually heard bad things about the Super Dragger exhaust causing problems on FDs (the scuderia site mentions this) and know that the HKS air filters are not like the Apexi intake. Looks and performance wise I'd go with the Apexi or Blitz open air intakes or the M2 or RX7 fashion cold air box. Or like earlier stated do some mods to the stock airbox, drop in a K/N and you have a decent intake. you won't have any performance gain from a fuel pump and with those mods you don't need it yet - only when you're approaching 320-360 rwhp you should have one. The Power FC is great, makes your car smoother. It comes already tuned for dp, intake and exhaust so you'll be fine. it does have high timing maps above 6K but you can have that tuned out.
