Mocal Thermostat - Remote vs. Sandwich Plate?

I've noticed a lot of people running the remote thermostat when setting up a dual oil cooler setup. Proven results but also showed some disadvantages (i.e. vibration can loosen the AN connections and leak oil, which can be fixed with better mounting). For the sandwich plate, I can see you'll have to run another oil line from the sandwich plate port to the front cover oil port, but what are the pros and cons for the sandwich plate. Anyone using this Mocal piece?

I'm not looking for a "Get the remote thermostat, it's proven" or "don't buy the sandwich plate because its cheaper" type of answer. Both products are made by Mocal. Both have built in thermostats that open at similar temperatures (175-180F).

I'm asking those with actual experience with this Mocal piece on RX7s or any vehicle. Opinions welcome, knowledgeable unbiased replies much appreciated.

The only disadvantage i see to the sandwich style is for those already running an oil filter pedestal. Otherwise its preference in my eyes.
