Angry Mixing a dumba$$ and a rotor screw....

Well a fool gave me a bit that was not made for impact bits and told me it was, I was using it to remove the screw that holds the rotor on in the front... well after all was said and done I had the tip of a bit stuck into the screw that holds my rotor onto my car... meaning it is stuck!!! @#$@#$#$@$# does anyone have any ideas on how to remove the screw? (also the guy thought putting a phillips head screw driver on it, then beating it with a mallet would make the situation better... actually making the threads much shorter than they should be along with flattening the corners)
Well now it is stuck on there... need a little advise...
TIA,
Ryker
P.S. Never ask a dumbass a question... its a bad idea!

since the head of the screw is junk anyway why not cut a slot in it for a flathead or cut the whole head off so you can remove the rotor then just unscrew the threaded part with visegrips.

Hit the Phillips bit with a downward blow from a hammer to knock it loose. Remove it from the rotor. And then use a drill to drill into the head of the screw. Just drill in for a bit, you don't need to free the head entirely. Then use a bolt in the threaded hole (that normally has nothing threaded into it) on the front of the rotor to pop it loose. It will pop the heads right off the screws.

i agree with max, those screws are very soft and if you drill them out a little bit, they come out much easier (or they pop off)

I think the problem is he broke the tip off in the screw which means it will be a royal pain in the @ss to drill the head off. I feel for you, I hate stuff like this. Try drilling small holes right to the outside of the broken bit so you can pry it out, then drill the head off with a 1/4" bit. Since these screws have countersunk heads the head will literally fall off right before you drill into the rotor. Make sense?

Mine were so bad the first time I removed them I had to drill the heads off and then remove the studs with vise grips.

I went to the bolt shop and bought a handful of new countersunk screws with Torx heads on them. I will never have trouble again

Today's mystery question: Why do the fronts have screws and the rears don't?
