Missing tube to air box

I was lookin under the hood of my car that I just bought and noticed that there is a tube missing that should run to the air box. It is the tube on the side of the air box pointing to the intercooler. I have a 93 R1. I tried searching and could find anything helpful. What tube is this? and Where does it run to?

I believe you found the tube that goes no where. literally. When I installed my apexi intake I found the tube and I **** my pants because it was just sitting there. For some reason mazda made a tube off the air box that just hangs there and literally does nothing.

I think that tube runs from the air pump to the air box. Yeah the first time I took my air box apart I didn't notice that it didn't go anywhere. when I put it back I looked and looked then took everything apart again cuse I didn't know that it went knowhere Just kind of hangs off the side of the airbox.

Supposedly this is to divert the noise from the air (smog) pump from the engine compartment to below the car..
