Mirror, how do you remove the mounting base plate from the mirror

I need the mounting base plate piece that hold the drivers side mirror to the door, there is a plate that bolts to the door with two screws, and the other side of it screws into the bottom of the mirror, it allows the mirror to rotate to fold the mirror in towards the car. It broke when somebody fell into my mirror.

See the picture below. It has two screws that attach it to the bottom of the mirror, I removed those two screws and it is not pulling apart from the mirror, like its still glued on or something.

How are you supposed to get it off the mirror?

Please let me know if somebody has this piece I could get from you, and how much? thanks.

i have a similar problem w/ my review mirror.. same side, driver, except mine is loose, it wobbles, and i cant figure out how to tighten it. i dont have the breakaways like u do, i believe they changed that option on the 94's, i have a 93.. but i plan on getting it fixed soon, hopefully, good luck on getting it fixed.

The mirrors should be the same, they are on my '93. Just grab the mirror and twist inward, that exposes the screws.

I'd suggest removing the glass then take the screws out of the face plate then pop that off which might give you access to a tensioning type bolt that would release it. However that's a lot of work. Removing the glass is a PIA you have to heat it and hope it comes off without breaking then you'd have to glue it back on.
