Mileage Meter Dead!

Came home from a 4 day trip. Pulled off the throttle body elbow to adjust my i/c piping. start the car and its not showing the Miles on the car at all...the entire LED screen shows nothing like the power is off? WTF!

How do i fix this and does this happen commonly?

In the mean time do i notify carfax or something?

pulled it out and replaced capacitors. It worked for a week, now it comes on every few drives. It normally comes on when I'm driving for more than 45 minutes, the miles will randomly appear again.
