might be moving, need a dumb question answered

Ok, I am thinking of moving down to West Palm Beach in Florida with some friends. I know it gets kind of hot down there at times and am wondering if the FD will be able to stand the heat that can be experienced in Florida? Any special precautions I would have to take?

Thanks in advance

West Palm Beach huh?Would be nice to get another FD down here..I've owned my FD for 8 months, been driving it for 6,and I haven't experienced any problems due to heat.If you are concerned, there are a few ways to cool your engine down a little more if needed.Summer is rough, but it shouldn't be a problem..

I'm from Tucson where it gets above 110 in the summer. Just make sure your car is ready. Coolant flush, new thermostat, underbelly attached. You shouldn't have any problems.

yeah I have 2 buddies already living in West Palm Beach and they tell me they rarely see any 7's. Sounds good man, when I get there I will probably just go cruising around just to see what it is all about there.

I just got a new thermostat put in the other day and when it gets closer to time for me to go I will do an all points check up on my car and see if everything is ok.

Thanks for the information guys

I've daily driven mine for over two years. I run my car with the parking lights on which kicks the fans on early and haven't had any problems.

I have replaced nearly all my hoses and run a koyo. If your running a high mileage car with original coolant hoses I'd say get the coolant hose kit from Ray at Malloy Mazda. If it is really hot and humid out I'll pop the hood when I get to work or home.

I have a eclipse which is my DD, but I take the 7 out maybe 3-4 days depending on weather.

I have replaced almost all the hoses also, I am running a fluidyne radiator right now and it seems to be doing great. My car doesn't have alot of miles on it (just 63,000/5,000 on new motor) and I pop my hood when I get home from driving here where I live. I hate Georgia and the humidity

Well,if you hate the humidity in Georgia, you aren't going to like it much down here..You get used to it though,it's not too bad..And like I said, your FD should be fine as long as you have all cooling/reliability mods up to date.

In georgia, it feels horrible, to me Florida is better when it comes to humidity. I have all the reliability mods done, so I believe I will be in good shape : )
