Midpipe and Cabin Noise
Midpipe and Cabin Noise
I decided to take care of a few maintenance items last week, which turned into the perfect excuse to buy and install some upgrades.
Along with my water pump, gaskets, coolant lines and a few other misc. items I installed my midpipe, which completed my full exhaust setup. (Air pump eliminated along w/ BOP)
After the install I took the FD for a spin and jumped on it in 2nd only to tear the tires off at about 50mph. Of course I was pretty impressed seeing how this was the first time my car had done this.
The increase in performance, in addition to my other mods, was fairly noticeable, but what I didn’t care for was the vibration in the cabin at lower RPM’s.
Are a lot of you guys (and ladies) feeling vibration in the cabin at lower R’s with a midpipe?

I had a straight-through MP for a few months. I didn't like the noise levels. I ended-up buying an rx7store resonated Mp=. The sound is much more bearable, it's downright quite in the low RPM's. I have no worries when cruising next to cops.
I'm debating if I should do the same. I'm either going to see what I can do to stop some of the vibrating in the cabin or just get rid of the midpipe and go with the resonated midpipe.
