Mid-pipe (Stock Cat) Smoking ~

I this because I'm running rich. If so I'm running stock Ecu which might mean it's a Vac line leak. Which line would it be?

Thanks
Joe

Not sure where the smoke is coming from, but if it is coming from the outside of the main cat, I would say that it is the trans leaking onto the cat.

The smoke is from the trans fluid burning when it his the cat.

edit: that's possible...it sits right below the tranny (see pic). have you changed your shifter lately? maybe it's not on tight or something...

from your picture, it looks like the cat is under the rear of the tranny. if he's leaking out of the rear seal by the driveshaft, maybe...

edit: lol I see what you did there.

I still have that problem once in a while, and it's my oil pan leaking...

Yes, But the smoke is coming from the mid section of the car right where the mid-pipe is located.

Yes, and I'm telling you that my cat was burning the oil. That is why it would smoke...

Take the car to an exhaust shop. Have them put it up on a lift and see where the smoke is coming from.

Both my oil pan and trans. are leaking. When I got home from driving it the other day it was smoking so bad....and it smelled like rotten eggs. It only smokes with my catalytic converter on. I had straight pipes before and it never smoked like it does now. Only after I installed my high flow cat. it started having this smoking problem. It had the same problem with the stock cat on also. I'm taking it to RIcks Rotary shop tomorrow to get fixed.
