Thanks Jonski
I'd wait for a second opinion, first. I've never removed the thermosensor, so I don't know what the entire thing looks like.

Word of caution with miata thermoswitch, I found that once switch is heat soaked fans shut off at 200F instead of 192F. Fans allways turn on at 207F as normal but shut off at 200F you get constant fan cycling on hot days, I disconnected mine and am looking into getting a more accurate switch you will not notice the differance without a temp guage.

The thermoswitch is on the engine side of the coolant filler neck. Underneath the pressure chamber, below the coolant nipple and ECU thermosensor (has a green connector).

(Hey, check out my levatating wastegate and turbo pre-control solenoids!)
Jeez almighty is that thing buried! It's hard enough getting to the green connector, let alone something under it.

Should I be pulling hoses to make this install possible?

Even still, it's down in there good. I managed to break loose both sensors using an open-ended wrench, but I couldn't get the wrench entirely over the hex.

The most aggravating part was trying to get the little spade connector connected after the sensor was in place. I was using a small spade connector and it took the rest of my patience to get that thing in.

where can I get a wire to connect the miata switch? I removed everything to get to it, but the stock switch has 2 pins/wires, the miata switch is just a one pin/wire connection. anyone have a picture of their modified plug?

I really need a bit of guidance on this if anyone can give it.

remove the stock sensor, unplug it, cut off the connection on the wire, crimp on a small female spade wire connector to slide over the pin on the miata sensor. It is a pain in the *** to get it back in without the wire coming loose, so I recommend trying to solder the connection to the sensor.
hope this helps.
