Metal shavings in tranny
Metal shavings in tranny
Some random guy showed up to change his tranny fluid at my house. Since I'm a nice guy I let him. So, anyways, on both of the drain flugs it seems like they are magnets. There were metal shavings stuck on the magnets. I guess it's good cause it means it's not going to the tranny but is this something that needs to be fixed?

It is completely normal to have some metal/sludge built up on the magnetic plugs. If you see lots of shiny metal shavings then you'll need something fixed.
The magnets help keep the shavings from circulating with the oil. If the tranny shifts fine and is quiet then don't worry about it.

also, it probably wont be a good idea if you remove the metal shavings.. when my friend and i replaced his tranny fluid we removed the shavings and his tranny broke like a week later... but his tranny was almost dead already so it was like the shavings were helping him in a way
